Sax Island is beautifully clean and pure. No one can see us here. We can observe the rest of the world by surveillance. Look at them fighting with each other, destroying each other. It is so awful, really awful. Think about it.

An early video work by Hank Bull and Eric Metcalfe, Sax Island is an irreverent absurdist theatre of pulp fiction and low life eroticism. Here this fiction forms the ground for a selection of young artists working nearly 30 years later who have, knowingly or not, and in various ways, absorbed the sassy, saucy, profane and critical attitudes that gave Sax Island its iconic quality.
